Rapture Song Revisited

Just in case you're new to this blog, I wanted to re-post my original post, the reason that my blog is called what it is. This is a poem/song that the Lord spoke to me a while ago, reminding me that he is coming soon, and I need to be ready. This is both sobering, and exciting! It is why I live the way I do, why I prioritize the way I do, why I can get up every morning. I actually do have a melody for it too, but I haven't gotten around writing it all down. Maybe next year... in Jerusalem...

Rapture's Song

May I be convicted
May my guilt be lifted
May your mercy and your faithfulness abide.
Will you crucify me
Let it purify me
That I may become the righteousness of Christ

May your love root deeply
That it may flow freely
As your Spirit finds a home in me my King
Won't you come and hide me
And ever guide me
As I sing beneath the shadow of your wing...

Someday I'll see you coming in the air
And I'll rise with all the saints to meet you there
When I hear the trumpet blast
And when finally at last your promised face I'll see
Your beauty and your grace will testify
That you have come to gather up your bride
May my hope and faith be true
And my love only for you
For you are Lord for all eternity

May you find me waiting
And anticipating
May my faith and life be incense Lord, to you
may I store up treasure
May it give you pleasure
Let me offer up the crowns I earn to you

Someday I'll see you coming in the air
And I'll rise with all the saints to meet you there
When I hear the trumpet blast
And when finally at last your promised face I'll see
Your beauty and your grace will testify
That you have come to gather up your bride
May my hope and faith be true
And my love only for you
For you are Lord for all eternity

And whether this life takes me
And my eyes shut here at last
Or I live to see the day you come
With a shout and trumpet blast
I know that you are truth and life
The beginning and the end
The Holy One, the great I AM
And on this I will depend

Someday I'll see you coming in the air
And I'll rise with all the saints to meet you there
When I hear the trumpet blast
And when finally at last your promised face I'll see
Your beauty and your grace will testify
That you have come to gather up your bride
May my hope and faith be true
And my love only for you
For you are Lord for all eternity

Ranch of Rescued Dreams

I wanted to share this video of a wonderful ranch that Nattie and Annie have been blessed enough to be able to visit regularly this summer. This ranch is hands down the most peaceful place I have ever been. Hopefully, we'll be able to volunteer there and minster there for years to come. If you're interested in more information, you can visit their website,www.crystalpeaksyouthranch.org.

From the Top of Tumalo Mountain

Geoff took the family up Tumalo Mt. on Saturday which is a short hike, but the first half is straight up hill to the peak. This photo is on the top looking towards Broken Top and South Sister. My camera doesn't do justice to the shot really, these mountains are really close and spectacular. Nathalie did the whole hike by herself and about half way through, she was just done. It is hard, and it was hot, and she'd lost all her spunk. We encouraged her to just keep putting one foot in front of the other, and pretty soon she was cheering Annie on too. When she reached the top she was the happiest kid I've ever seen. There's nothing like seeing success on your child's face, especially when they wanted to quit so badly. (I must say, with all the whining, I wanted to quit 1/2 way too!) We sure were a rag tag bunch when we got back to the car, we had dirt everywhere and smelled like dry high desert pine, but we were happy bunch and went promptly to buy some ice cream for the girls. They'd sure earned it, and I guess I had too.

Triumph!!

Well, when someone says, "it's just like riding a bicycle", now Nat will now what they mean. Our little spitfire nearly spit fire as she stumbled and scraped her way to full riding prowess, but she did it.

I was so proud of her. It's so hard to just WATCH your child struggle and fall and hurt themselves, but in the end, it's so much more rewarding. I got to see the look of success on her face, and for the woman that she'll become, that is priceless. These little successes will continue to show her that she can accomplish almost anything if she is patient with herself and doesn't give up.

Her face flushed beat red, she dunked herself in the ice cold kid pool repeatedly to cool herself off physically and emotionally, and she told Geoff and I off a few times for trying to "help", but in the end, as she skidded to a stop she said, "Jesus helped me learn to ride my bike!". For such moments, there are no words.

Hooray for the Red White and Blue

We had a great time this weekend. We did the pet parade, lots of slip and slide action, and the Ray Atkson trail. We have grass stains, skinned knees, head aches and a little sun over-exposure, but we are blissfully happy and ready for more. Right now, the dog is exhausted and sleeping on my feet, the girls are zoned out and watching Looney Tunes with dad, and I am nodding offfff.... while blogging.

Two more, just for fun

OK, Ryan, here you go. The post of "the tooth", however I think this is more the precursor to the "the tooth" because he has yet to reveal "the tooth" in it's full glory.

The picture of Annie is just a bonus cuz I think it's funny:)

(For the non -Mccall reader, "the tooth" is Dad's somewhat large and prominent front bottom tooth that is only displayed when one of us kids is in BIG trouble. If we get first, middle and last names used and we see "the tooth", we might as well grab the belt ourselves.:) Dad, we love you, and we poke fun at "the tooth" now because, well, we can... and your belt is 300 miles away. **wink**)

Tap,week with family, VBS, ETC. I know, Keep up.

Ok, I know, random hodge podge of family pics. For those who love, enjoy. For those who don't get it...don't try. This was a family weekend of Nat's tap recital (awesome!! I'll have a video soon...) and some great weather with Grammy, Papa and uncle Ryan. I love the sun. I love the sun. Did I mention? I LOOOOVVVVEEE it. I don't love the forest fire smoke that is slowly killing me though. AYE! All in all...I am so blessed. Thanks fam for putting up with us for a week-and Reeses, I am amazed that you survived so well. Nat put herself to sleep tonight singing VBS songs. How precious.

Sustained

i'm satisfied by Your love so completely
how could i thirst for the praises of man?
there's nothing i need that You haven't provided
and no one can offer me peace like You can

Jesus Your love is enough
sufficient for me
all i have needed You've given for free
Your love is enough
don't need men's applause
i know what i'm worth i remember the cross

i'm sustained oh Lord
when Your light surrounds me the world goes away
i'm sustained oh Lord
my heart knows Your love like it flows through my veins
such peace and contentment i found in Your grace
i can't think why i've ever complained
You love me, what more can i want?
i'm sustained
