It's almost time again for the hot air baloon festival! This is a photo as they go over downtown. BEAUTIFUL! They take off at 6:30 am from the elementary school just down the road from us so we'll walk there on Saturday. We've gone for the last 3 years and it's been great. The last 2 years, they haven't even gotten off the ground though due to the weather, but when they stay tethered and give rides, the kids are very happy. Nathalie still talks about the balloon ride she took 2 years ago when she'd just turned 3 years old. She has quite the memory.

6 Deep Thoughts:
We were just talking about this at work last week. Zac and I are going too. Plus they have fun stuff going on throughout the weekend that we like to go to. We've never gone to the launch before, though. Kacey, if you see someone with bags under her eyes looking like she can't believe she is voluntarily out of the house at 6 am on a Saturday morning...that will be me:)
How would I know? My eyes will be half closed the whole time with sleep bugs in em. We may bump into each other:)
We have a big one of these in CS too, but it's at Labor Day weekend, and it's so fun! I know what you mean!
We too have to get up early in the am. They launch about 300 balloons first thing in the morning, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Then each of those same evenings they tether the same balloons and just when the sun sets they do a balloon glow! It's fun, the whole crowd participates, counted down from 10 together really loud, and then all 300 balloons blow their gasket (lol) at the same time and it lites up the whole dark night! It's gorgeous, they do it over and over until about 11pm. All throughout the festival they have vender's and music shows, activities etc. It's such a cool thing, I'm so glad Bend has an activity like this. My kids grew up with this show yearly and love all the memories.

Yes, we can go. You have to be both a morning person and a night owl. Or we can pick one or the other. If it's up to me to pick only one, I always pick the balloon glow.
